Q. Which is worse sugar or carbohydrates (bread.pasta,rice ect)? if i were to have a choice between a scone with lowfat cream and sugarfree jam and a chocolate bar which would be worse for me.
which one of them would store the most fats and contain the most energy hence making me fat quiker hope you all get what i mean thanks
no i dont want to get fatter i already am lol im 5'8 and 156 pounds
and yes i do work out 90 mins of cardio a day to be precise
Sugars and carbs in excess will both make you fat quicker.
If you want the healthier option, moderation is key. Carbs are the current debate. There are 2 types - simple and complex. Complex carbs are more difficult for your body to break down, therefore have less effect on your overall sugar level.
Avoid simple carbs as much as possible (sugars, white breads and pastas) and stick to complex carbs (whole grain breads and pastas, etc). There is a wealth of information on the internet regarding this subject.
One last note.....many fat-free and low fat items add extra sugar to help with taste....many sugar free item can be high in fat or contain artificial sweeteners.


Q. Do u think bread and pasta is bad for you? when i go to panera bread and texas road house to eat, i eat their delicous rolls and bread. and pasta i like to eat flavored noodles at home like the chicken flavored ones. but not everyday either. maybe once a week and the breads once a week to. so help me please. i don't want to gain weight eating breads or pasta. i was doing good without bread and pasta now it came back to me. what can i do.

I don't know if you can center your eating situation around just too foods. I'm sure other things contribute to any excess weight/overeating. You should just eat whole grain pasta and bread. Whole grain wheat is even better. You need carbs to live just don't overeat. A normal serving of pasta is about the size of a tennis ball. When you feel like you've eaten enough but you're not full, wait 30 minutes because it takes 30 minutes to feel full.
Also, just don't buy anything that isn't whole grain. If you really feel strong, throw out the foods that you think might affect your diet in a negative way. It's your way of conquering the food.
If you eat a lot one day, your stomach will stretch and it will take more food to make you full the next time you eat so only eat one serving and you won't have to stuff yourself with pasta to feel full the next time you eat it.

Will carbs like pasta, bread, ect. make your tummy fat worse? doesnt it just transform into quick energy then if you dont burn it off it'll go wherever you usually gain weight, like some people its their ass and most people its their belly? if this is true, how much whole grains should i have and how much protein should i have?
i think it does because one time i ate like a whole loaf of white bread and then went to sleep like a hour later and when i woke up my belly was noticably fatter(it wasnt bloat) and everywhere else didnt look different.
his is true. You can have carbs, but then exercise to burn it. If you do not excercise it will turn into fat.
Protein and grain ratio ??? Depends what your goal is. If you wanna gain weight.. eat more protein and some grains. But if you want to loose weight, eat more grains and some protein. Good luck.


Q. Is eating too much breads and pasta bad for you? i love breads like croissants, honey wheat bread, and pasta..
however my boyfriend says the carbs in them make you fat, and i should stop eating them. i said if i stopped eating them, and lost weight, by going back to eating them i would gain the weight back.

Carbs don't 'make you fat'. They just provide a lot of energy, and if you're not exercising and living actively to use up that energy, it gets stored as fat just like anything else would. They're high in calories, so if you're eating way more calories than you should, you'll gain weight.
Don't stop eating them because that's really unhealthy - your body needs carbs - just switch to better versions and pay attention to your portion sizes. Read the packages.


Q. Is eating pasta, bread, rice etc bad if you want to lose weight?
if it is in small quantities then it isnt bad. they are all carbohydrates, are are essential in the diet, however too much of them will not do you any favours if you want to loose weight. but definately dont cut them out completely.

Absolutely forget the margarine- that is trans fattty acid territory; and that is the worst kind of fat for your body. Butter in moderation, avocado is ok.
find a good doctor or naturopath who uses a Listen Orion to help locate allergies. Also a kinesiologist is good as well.
Milk and wheat are greatly overrated. Many people are allergic or have a food intolerance to them.
If you must eat bread go for sourdough.
However you need to consult a professional or two


Q. What's the lesser evil - bread or pasta? i bring my lunch to work everyday. i used to bring a tupperware of pasta everyday but i am trying to be healthier. so i bought cold cuts and rolls for sandwiches. but is the bread just as bad as the pasta?
any suggestions on other lunch ideas? it has to have some kind of carbs to fill me up. i tried salads and even with toppings like nuts i was starving to death.
Bread. Bread has lower calories and now you can get enhanced fibre and whatnot. In the end, if you take the stairs to work, why not have pasta? ;)

It's because the way whole wheat is digested. Whole wheat takes longer to digest and it doesn't turn right into sugar like white refined carbs.
