undefined | Q. What happens with taking too many tylenols?
"Take more than the recommended does of tylenol..."
You will get liver damage. It is so bad that the government stepped in and made the manufacturers label the bottles that it is dangerous to take more than the recommended does of Tylenol . Stop doing this. Just eat healthy. Take orange juice and Vitamin c.

"Too much tylenol will damage your liver..."
| | | Carlo | Q. Are taking pills an answer?
No, taking pills is definitely NOT your answer. Jesus is your answer. Every human being is born with a ``god shaped hole`` in their heart that only Jesus can fill. Until you fill that hole with Him, you will feel empty and unsatisfied. Here is the story of who God is: Read on!-------------------------It is like this:
THE STORY OF GOD:
You are in a foreign land with strict laws. To your horror, you have been found guilty in their court of law for stealing and smuggling illegal drugs and weapons. The judge tells you that you are guilty of grievously breaking the laws of his country and you have only two choices that will satisfy justice: Pay a $10,000,000.00 fine or immediate execution by being thrown over a 30,000 foot cliff to your death on the jagged rocks below. The judge informs you that his country`s laws are very strict and all who break them must die. But you have no money, no friends and no family to call on in this country and you are not allowed a phone call. No one is there to help you.
You are totally helpless. You have no money and no defense. You know you are guilty. The evidence is right there before the judge. You are standing helplessly in front of this judge and see no hope. You are going to die a horrendous death.
When, suddenly, a stranger you have never seen before and don`t even know, appears in the courtroom and walks up to you and hands you a certified cheque for $10,000,000.00. He says to you: ``Hello son, I have watched you unseen your whole life. I know you are guilty, but I still love you. I love you with an everlasting love. Look! I have sold all my lands, properties, valuables, heritage, jewels and everything I own in order to get this money for you. It is $10,000,000.00. I have paid your fine. You are free to go.`` As the stranger reaches out to hand you the cheque, you are shocked to see there are big scars and holes in each of the his hands. You ask this wonderful stranger: ``What happened to your hands, they have big holes in them?`` He answers, with love so pure and perfect, it breaks your heart. The stranger says: ``Sin caused these holes in my hands. I got them from suffering and dying on a cross for you, but you never realized it.``
The judge inspects the certified cheque and tells you: ``Son, your find is paid. You are free to go! Go and break the law no more!`` You turn to thank and humbly bow to your new friend, but as suddenly as He appeared, He has vanished. You still have the cheque in your hands. You give it to the judge. As you do, you notice that you are weeping and even the judge is weeping. You walk freely out of the courtroom and out of the country. A free man! How wonderful to be free! You notice now how much you love that stranger. You determine in your heart to search your whole life for Him and to please Him in any little or big way you can. Your love and gratitute for him is very deep and very permanent. You also decide to tell everyone you know about your wonderful stranger and how He paid your fine when you were on the brink of death. You are so excited, you can`t wait to tell! You start immediately. You tell everyone. You tell strangers, you tell friends, you tell family. You ask them to start searching for your wonderful friend.
It is then that you notice a peculiar thing. The more you searched for your wonderful stranger, the more you found Him in your heart. You found you had become just like Him. In your heart, in your attitude and in your life. No longer do you want to lie or steal, nor do you want to be mean. You had this wonderful love in your heart. The wonderful stranger had replaced your old sinful heart with His own pure one. Now, you hate your old ways. You hate stealing, lying, smuggling drugs; You hate everything your wonderful stranger paid for with the holes in his hands.
After some time and many inquiries, You found out the whole story of this stranger. You found He was immensely wealthy. He held the top position in the whole universe. In fact, you found out He even created the universe and all that was in it with the power of his Word! He even created you! No wonder He loved you! No wonder he was pleased to die for you! My friend was the King of Kings! No one was higher than He. And, I found out, there was so much power just in His WORDS that he created the earth by speaking it into existence and that He formed man out of the dust of the earth and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living being! This was your friend!! You also found out that you can ask Him for anything and he will answer you and help you! Why, even the wind and the seas obey Him! You found out He really had come into your heart and you are in Him and He is in you! You found out that He had even given you a new mind. A mind like His! As unbelievable as this was, you could speak in His name. He had given you His name! And He had a name that was above every name! Why, at the name your friend, every knee shall bow. Both in heaven, on earth and beneath the earth! He even gave you power over His enemies and your enemies! All you need do is speak His wonderful name!
You found out that you are the apple of His eye. You are very special to Him. Now, you can talk to Him and He talks to you. He gave you His Word in the Bible, which tells you the whole story about how much He loves you and how much He has done for you!
That`s why you tell everyone about your friend. His name is Jesus (Yeshua).
This, (the above anecdote) is what Jesus did for you on the Cross 2000 years ago. He left the riches of heaven, became a man, took your sin upon himself, laid down his life on the cross of Calvary and died in your place. He was put to death by His own people who didn`t know who He really was. In doing so, He paid your fine. You can go free. All your sins are on Him. His blood was the $10,000,000.00 fine paid for you. All you owe Him back is repentance, turning from sin, gratitude and total trust in Him to save you from your sins. Now you live your life completely for him. For you are not your own, you were bought with a price. (Preachers have been hiding from the people the ``rocks at the bottom of the cliff`` for the last 40 years so people live carelessly as sinning ``christians``. They have also totally anihilated the 10 Commandments from the pulpits so that the people walk around blind not knowing what sin is, having no conscience.)
Jesus is waiting for You!! Take Him into your heart immediately. Jesus is coming back to get his own soon! Now, tell others! You owe it! Buy yourself a Bible!

 Q. Tylenol....? are tylenol 3 tablets the ones with codine avalible otc, or are any the tylenol w/ codine avalible otc???
i was just given one for pain and i wanted to purchase some or do i have to call my dr. to get them???
"Tylenol #3 (tylenol with codeine..."
Tylenol #3 (Tylenol with codeine) is only available by prescription because of the codeine. Codeine is a Schedule III drug and is therefore restricted by the government.
dinkerbell1969 - I'm sorry but you are incorrect. Pain medications can have refills; they do not require a separate script each time. This, of course, depends on the medication. If the medication is a Schedule II drug then yes, it does require a separate script each time. However, Schedule III medications can have refills. Vicodin, Lortab, Norco, Tylenol #3, etc can have refills written without a separate script and these are all pain medications.

 Q. How many tylenol does it take to hurt your liver irreparably? when it comes to drugs, people tend to point to acetaminophen (tylenol) as the most destructive to the liver. is it really more destructive than other substances? how much would an adult have to take in order to cause irreparable damage to his or her liver?
obviously, this is body mass specific, so please specify the limit and the weight of the person with that limit.
the bottle usually says to take two tablets, which i believe are 500 mg each. this, however, is probably safe for a 100 lb granny.
just to clarify: what is the healthy dose for an average young person?
"For tylenol it is not a major factor..."
Although I cannot give a specific, technical answer to your question, I can give you general guidelines.
While like with most medicines there is some dependence of dosing based on weight, for Tylenol it is not a major factor and so weight is rarely taken into account when determining dosage. Generally, many hospitals try not to give more than 4 g of Tylenol in a 24 hr period. Sometimes they do go beyond this and for a period of days otherwise healthy, young individuals can take 6 or 7 g without series liver problems, but beyond that things start to get damaged. These signs of liver trouble are usually subtle though and frequently there are no indications of toxicity except for a rise in various enzymes used to measure liver health.
Now as far as "irreparable" liver damage is concerned, well generally the problem with Tylenol ingestion, as far as I know, is not so much irreparable liver damage, as the liver is a rather stout organ and can handle its share of abuse, but instead acute liver failure which can result in death. It doesn't really matter, though, because I cannot recall the toxic dosages for either occurrence and so can't answer either question. (Sorry!) As I stated above, however, while your body based on health and size can probably take a fair some of pills, most hospitals rarely go above 4 g/day for any patient if they can help it.

 Q. Time window between taking tylenol and drinking alcohol? i had really bad cramps this morning, so i took two tylenol regular strength pills at noon. i'm going out tonight and i'm planning on drinking. i probably won't start drinking until around 9. i've heard that tylenol and alcohol can cause liver failure. is 9 hours enough of a window for the tylenol to go out of my system?
Yes nine hours is good enough for the acetaminophen to be metabolized. For severe liver conditions to be caused by a combination of acetaminophen and alcohol you would need to combine their use in high doses for weeks or months. But still your precaution is wise. You will be fine to drink tonight.

 Q. Is it safe to take tylenol at only 7weeks pregnant? i am 7weeks, almost 8 pregnant and have this horrible toothache. i'm pretty sure i need a root canal but since i won't have a dentist appointment for the next couple weeks, is taking tylenol okay to take this early in the pregnancy? if so, how much? any home remedies?
you could also put a clove in your mouth - it's an old remedy for toothache. Not a clove of garlic, but a clove - that small, black little spice. It has antiseptic qualities and reduces inflammation and pain.
But, I'll be honest that I'm not 100% sure if it's safe during pregnancy - you could ask your doctor though. But as it's a very old remedy, it's probably fine - but check first.

 Q. Why do some people take tylenol instead of aspirin? i rarely taken meds like aspirin or tylenol, but i've been curious why people take tylenol over aspirin sometimes? is aspirin harmful, or is it just not as strong as tylenol for headaches and minor pains? what's the reasoning behind why people do or do not choose aspirin for minor pain relief?
"Tylenol is safer for this reason although..."
Aspirin is more likely to make you bleed because it thins the blood. People on prescription blood thinners or those who are prone to bleeding ulcers ( or bleeding anywhere in their body) should not take aspirin. Tylenol is safer for this reason although in large doses over a long period of time Tylenol can damage the liver. Also, unless okayed by a physician, aspirin and aspirin-containing products should not be given to children because of a serious, avoidable, rare condition it can cause called Reye's Syndrome.
