There are certain teachers in todays world who think of themselves as perfectionists, and they would not have it otherwise. The best way to handle such people is to try to stay one step ahead of them .
for example;
1) always be well read.( prepare the topic, to be taught tommorow, today)
2) have a brief but superficial knowledge of the related topics.
3) always seem to be eager to learn more from her .

 Q. Mean math teacher who expects everyone to know everything!? this is my second time asking this question but i realized i wrote too much for a short story, but i didn't include everything i should have.
long story made short:
i'm a 6th grader and i love my school. i'd abso. love school if i didn't have my math teacher. she's the meanest teacher i have ever had in my life. i'm in advanced gifted classes and she expects us to know everything. she fails us for everything and later laughs at us about it, and screams at us.
i'm a very shy person and since she's my first period teacher i get scared and my heart is beating fast and i feel horrible. =( i need help, please.
i have a b in her class, but i'm trying to get an a. how do i get my shyness off and being scared practically every morning?!
sorry i put it on the wrong topic! =o
thanks answer 1..i guess...
Hi there - I think I can help. I'm a high school teacher. Your school should have an adult in the building with official title of "School social worker". This person has several things he/she is responsible for, but the biggest thing this person does is listen to and talk with students. This would be perfect for your problem - find this person at your school and tell them exactly what you said in your question. Don't worry about the math teacher finding out. If your school does not have a social worker, use your guidance counselor. If all else fails, talk to your parents and have them communicate your fears and stress to the school principal. You shouldn't have to feel this way every morning when you go to a math class. It's OK to do something about it.

 Q. Teacher expects us to know this from the little amount she has taught.? a and b are regular polygons and a has 2 more sides than b. the measure of each interior angle of a is 6 greater than the measure of the interior angle of b. how many sides does a have?
If n = the number of sides of a regular polygon,
then each interior angle = 180(1 - 2/n) degrees.
Let polygon-a have n sides.
Therefore, polygon-b has n - 2 sides.
Interior angle of polygon-a = 180(1 - 2/n) degrees.
Interior angle of polygon-b = 180[1 - 2/(n - 2)] degrees.
Therefore, 180(1 - 2/n) = 180[1 - 2/(n - 2)] + 6
Simplifying this, you'll get the equation : n^2 - 2n - 120 = 0,
which can be factorised to (n + 10)(n - 12) = 0,
so, n = -10 or 12
Taking the positive value only gives n = 12.
So polygon-a has 12 sides, polygon-b has 10 sides and
interior angle of poylgon-a is 150º, while polygon-b is 144º.

 Q. What is the average typing speed for six graders....because my teacher expects 25wpm not looking.? its hard to type 25wpm not looking when your 11 and have only been taking the class for 5 weeks.
I think 25 wmp at age 11 is brilliant! Keep at it (without looking) - it will come in useful all your life (or for as long as computers still have keyboards).
I only started learning typing at age 12 (on those old sit-up-and-beg machines). After 3 years, I could do 75 wpm typing, and 120wpm shorthand, which got me a Distinction mark in Advanced Typing & Shorthand from the Royal Society of Arts.
It got me (together with my GCE's) a really good job.
I couldn't believe my luck when old typewriters went out and new keyboards came in; my 75wpm went up to 120wpm almost overnight.
Your teacher is right - learn to do it without looking (touch-typing). My husband still finds it fascinating that I can look at him and talk, and still continue typing. (Guess who has to put his entries on Ebay?)

 Q. Teacher expects me to be as intelligent as my sister? alright, well whats there to blame, she inherited the intelligent trait while i didn't? the point is, i'm not the brightest student, nothing like my sister. whatever i receive a teacher that had my sister in the past they always expects me to hit the high a+ range. that's defiantly not going to happen, but for some reason i feel extremely embarrassed if i get something around a b or c on a test, i worry too much... "this teacher defiantly thinks i am an idiot, my sister had an a+ while i could never reach that, im embarrassing myself, and her!" it upsets me...all the time
I'm sure your sister knows the difference between "definitely" and "defiantly".
