Nothing will happen if you are an adult. I was drinking tonight, got home with serious cramps...waited till about 7 am then took 3 midol pills (500`s etra strength) i got worried and tried to make myself throw them up, but then realized their most likely dissolved already. I called poision control and they said alcohol has nothing to do with it, and unless you have taken 1 and a half times the amount you should have then to call and get help. you will be fine.

i think it reacts to give salicylic acid....thats y this active form exerts deleterious effects on stomach....n this is the reason y enteric coated tablets r available now.

your stomach lining will ulcerate and you could in fact bleed to death it is painful and can cause many other problems and it is long and painful.

You can remove the salicylic acid polymer by rinsing the aspirin in sodium bicarbonate. The aspirin will react with the sodium bicarbonate and create an ion that will dissolve while the salicylic acid will stay a solid. You can then filter the product and the filtrate will contain the aspirin. In order to get the aspirin back in solid form you can protonate it and cool it causing the aspirin to solidify.
