Charisse | Q. Is tylenol and advil bad for liver?
"Tylenol is bad for the liver if..."
Tylenol is bad for the liver if you take too many and if you take it more than 5 days at a time. You should drink a lot of water with it. You can get damage if you drink alcohol with Tylenol. As for Advil, it is a muscle relaxant and anti inflamatory agent. It is not harmful to the liver. But again, don`t mix with alcohol.

 Q. Which is better tylenol, advil or motrin for a 15 month old? hi i gave my little man tylenol about 4 hours ago with no result in pain relief or reduced fever should i change to advil or motrin instead or just wait? thanks
Personally I think Motrin makes a kids fever go down quick..Whenever i had to take my kids to the ER in the middle of the night that is what they were given each time for fever..However,my doctor does not like Motrin and told me to just give my kids Tylenol.

 Q. Is advil better than tylenol for your period? when i get my period i always take advil since my school said its better but is midol or tylenol better?
"There is not really a big difference between advil and tylenol..."
There is not really a big difference between advil and tylenol. They are both pain relievers. Midol is a pain reliever with a few extras. It has caffeine and medicine to help with bloating. However, if you have a caffeine sensitivity, don't use it.
Every person reacts differently to each pain medication. The neuroreceptors in your brain determine which one will work the best for you. Try each of them (at different times of course) and see what works best for you. Then stick with that. Personally, Midol works the best for me.

 Q. What gets rid of cramps better: tylenol or advil? how much and how often?
"Advil..."
Advil. I've used that for years and it's the best. Start with the smallest dose possible... two every four hours and see how you do. Take it with food so you don't upset your stomach. The old prescription dose of iboprofen (advil) used to be 800 mg. That would be 4 over the counter pills. Don't start with the highest. You always want to use the least amount possible. It's possible if your cramps are really awful, your doctor might want to try something stronger for you.

 Q. Is advil or tylenol better for you when you have a headache?
"Tylenol typically has 500mg of acetaminophen per pill..."
It depends on how your body responds to either medication. Everyone is different.
Main thing is...don't take too much. Tylenol typically has 500mg of Acetaminophen per pill. Do not take more than 4000mg (or 8 pills) per day or you can cause liver damage.
Also, be careful with Advil/ibuprofen which can cause stomach irritation if taken in excess (usually 6 or less per day is recommended).
