    Yes, there is proof that the Bible is true. 700 years before Christ was born, Isaiah, the prophet foretold where he would be born and that he would be born of a virgin, being conceived of the Holy Ghost, and also that he would die for the sins of men. Isaiah 53:5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. Isaiah spoke this about Jesus, our messiah who would die for our sins. Jesus fulfilled every prophecy of his birth and death. There are many other prophecies in the Old Testament that were fulfilled in the New Testament. Another prophecy has recently been fulfilled and that is that the Jews have returned to Israel and Israel became a nation in 1948. This was foretold by all the prophets: Jeremiah, Isaiah and others.

    Yes, it does. The 3rd Commandment says: You shall not take the name of the Lord Your God in vain. That means you shall not use God`s name as a cuss word. You will be judged if you do.

    im trying to prove to my family that the bible hates the homosexuals. like i think it was abraham and his wife moved into a city that was gay and god told them to leave and don't look back and then his wife turned back and she turned to a salt block/stone?


    The Bible has slowly changed to become anti anything stereotypically gay as society has. Sodom wasn't destroyed because they were gay. That's a fairly recent Christian invention. The Talmud and other Judaic sources report that they were destroyed for extreme inhospitality and failure to give to the poor. They would sentence people to horrific deaths for helping others, rape and rob all newcomers, etc.

    i know the bible is supposed to say homosexuality is wrong. i'm not homosexual but you here it every day. i've been to church a few times and have read a few parts of the bible but i don't know where it talks about this. i'm just wanting information, not opinions please.

    hi. i need to know everything that the bible says about homosexuals. please don't just interpret it yourself. if you can tell me where in the bible (book, verse number...) homosexuals are mentioned/discussed, i would greatly appreciate it.     What does the Bible say about homosexuality? There are those who like to say that the Bible does not condemn homosexuality. Various verses are cited (out of context) and the verses that people use to show that homosexuality is wrong are explained away. The world wants to change God's words and meanings into something more suitable to its sinful desires. Nevertheless, the truth stands: The Bible condemns homosexuality as a sin. Let's look at what it says. Lev. 18:22, "You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination." Lev. 20:13, "If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltness is upon them" 1 Cor. 6:9-10, "Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, 10nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God." Don't compromise your witness for a socially acceptable opinion that is void of godliness.

    but it was out of context/misinterpreted, would you point out the misinterpretation? it seems that whenever the bible talks about slavery and supports mass murder on innocent people for stupid reasons, you get all mad and point out it being from the ot or out of context but anything about homosexuality, you just leave for everyone and not care.


    They already are misinterpreted. Let's take a look at HOW they are misinterpreted: LEVITICUS: If you look at the entire chapters (18 & 20) that those two verses are placed you will find this -- Leviticus 18:3 "You must not do as they do in Egypt, where you used to live, and you must not do as they do in the land of Canaan, where I am bringing you. Do not follow their practices." and something similar in chapter 20. God is telling the Hebrews not to follow the WORSHIP practices of the Egyptians and Canaanites, which often included male prostitution and orgies. These chapters are condemning ritual sex as part of idol worship. ROMANS -- Romans 1:21-23 "21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles." These are the verses that come just before where Paul says God gave up on them and they started to do "unnatural" things. Look at the people Paul is talking about. Paul says that these people KNEW God, but worshiped idols anyways. It is these people that God gave up on, not people who know and worship Him (even those who happen to be gay). Unless you are calling every gay person an idol worshiper, then these verses do not apply. Corinthians (and Timothy) -- These verses are a little more tricky as they require an understanding of Ancient Greek. Paul uses the word "Arsenokoitai", which is not found in any extant Greek writings until the second century when it apparently means "pederast", a corrupter of boys, and again in the sixth century when it is used for husbands practicing anal intercourse with their wives. "Arsenokoitai" is made up of two parts: "arsen" means "man"; "koitai" means "beds." Although the word in English Bibles is interpreted as referring to homosexuals, we can be fairly certain that this is not the meaning that Paul wanted to convey. If he had, he would have used the word "paiderasste." That was the standard Greek term at the time for sexual behavior between males. We can conclude that he probably meant something different than people who engaged in male-male adult sexual behavior. Some scholars think probably the second century use might come closest to Paul's intention. If so, there is no justification for translating the word as "homosexuals." So, is the Bible really as clear on the subject as people think?

    That depends on who you talk to. For me, personally, it says NOTHING about homosexuality as we understand it today. Let me give you my reasons why as I mention the verses usually used against homosexuality: Sodom -- This story has absolutely NOTHING to do with homosexuality, and everything to do with gang rape and inhospitably. Do people really think that ALL gang rapes in prisons today are done ONLY by homosexuals?? Still not convinced, turn to Judges and read the story of Gibeah, then compare the two. Leviticus -- When people cite the two verses here, they really need to look at the context of the chapter they are placed in. Leviticus 18:3 "You must not do as they do in Egypt, where you used to live, and you must not do as they do in the land of Canaan, where I am bringing you. Do not follow their practices."     Q. Why are bible thumpers hypocrytes toward homosexuals?
    how come religious people preach some stuff in the bible but not all? who are they to pick and choose what they want to believe and follow? for example, lots of people say homosexuality is in the bible and its a sin blahblahblah if god made everyone to be who they are who are we to judge them. it's not like they are going against the bible right? didnt god make them that way? and aren't you not to judge others??? i don't get it??? and what about all these translations?? proverbs 30:6 do not add to his words, lest he rebuke you, and you be found a liar. in alot of the translations there is no word for homosexuals or hs acts, yet there they are in the new bibles??? but it also talks about sex for procreation only, and that women should be covered, like as in a burka, and it "used" to be against the "bible" for blacks and whites to marry , when did that become ok? oh yea, and slavery is clearly ok in the bible, why was that stopped? and you are not supposed to "lust" after your neighbor....which can mean anyone you are not supposed to get drunk deuteronomy 23:1 esv no one whose testicles are crushed or whose male organ is cut off shall enter the assembly of the lord. sssoooooooo those who have surgery cant go through the gates ezekiel 23:19-20 net yet she increased her prostitution, remembering the days of her youth when she engaged in prostitution in the land of egypt. she lusted after their genitals – as large as those of donkeys, and their seminal emission was as strong as that of stallions. soooooooo prostitution is really ok? i didn't mean all bible thumpers, or all religions, just wanted to clarify that. i am a catholic myself, but i don't pick and choose what i want to believe from the bible

    many say its ok to dislike but the bible never says anything about, hate and dislike are the same thing, either love or hate, their is no inbetween. many people say "i love the person becasue i have too but i just dont like them". this sound pretty crazy if you ask me, here is a more logical answer " i love the person but i dont like the things that they do", this sounds much better and makes more since. god loves all but he hates sin, god love homosexuals as people and his creation but he hates what they do. when people say "i love them but dislike them" they are contradicting themselves, they are really saying "i love them but hate them". you cannot use somthing the word "dislike" just to make it sound less harsh, lol.


    Yes, you may dislike someone. English is a weak language for talking about different kinds of love. The Greek of the New Testament is much better: + Eros: Romantic love + Philia: Brotherly (or sisterly) love + Storge: Parental love + Agape: Godly love Eros and philia are based on emotions and storge is almost an instinct. But Agape is a decision to wish for the best for someone. Christians are commanded to love (agape) their neighbors and enemies. This does not mean we have to like them or approve of their actions. This love (agape) is almost impossible to do without God's help. Do you love (agape) the terrorists who flew airplanes into the World Trade Center? With love in Christ.

    i was wondering where in the bible it talks about homosexuals. i have a friend who is gay, but he claims to be christian.


    Gay people will not go to hell based on there sexual orientation. Being gay is a sin and we all sin in different ways. No sin is greater than the other according to God. If anyone believes in Christ and accepts him as our own personal lord and savior then they won't go to hell.
