Aspirin is safe and better than paracetamol (which is Tylenol). With Tylenol you can get acute liver damage if you take too much. Tylenol poisoning accounts for most of the drug overdoses in the U.S. and Canada. You don`t notice anything till 8 days later. Don`t take Tylenol with alcohol.

Headache/migraine paracetamol, which you can also have ibuprofen with between the paracetamol doses i.e. take paracetamol and then if the pain is bad two hours later you can take ibuprofen, the same for earache. The best for menstrual pain is ibuprofen (to help reduce the inflammation associated with cervical contractions, or aspirin. For muscle pain the best is ibuprofen, as it helps to reduce inflammation. I must add however that it is entirely dependant on your other medical history. If for example you have, or have ever had, stomach ulcers then neither ibuprofen or aspirin should be taken without a doctor's advice. Also if you have asthma, especially if you have nasal polyps as well, then again no doctor would recommend the use of ibuprofen or aspirin, as the risk of sensitivity would outweigh any benefits and paracetamol, maybe with codeine added with be the only alternative. Also never give aspirin to young people or children as they can develop a rare but serious condition called Reyes syndrome, although ibuprofen can be used in children.

Yeah they're different types of drugs. It's not wise to take asprin before surgery but it should be fine when uare stable. After abdominal surgery the doc put me on co-codamol and voltarol. Voltarol is the same type of drug as asprin (NSAID-Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug) Im sure ur doc will fill u in good luck x

Q. Why do i have a constant headache?

It could be the aftermath of your recent illness. It could be your eyes need testing, it could be tension. It could be a lot of things. Get a check up if it lasts much longer, as regular 'pill popping' is counterproductive.

hey! well basically, i spent the 29th december 2009 to the 5th january 2010 in hospital from a huge overdose of 350+ 500mg paracetamol/aspirin. all i remember is walking around for about an hour or two with an immense headache, then throwing up, after that i blacked out and remember nothing until waking up in hospital. thankfully i had treatment and became better and am now living life to it's fullest, and i don't plan on going there again. however i was wondering, what would of happened if i had not got the treatment? i know liver and kidney failure would of been certain and i would of died, but after blacking out, would i of woke up again if i had not got treatment, or would i of stayed in black out up until death? thank you for any information regarding this!

Probably not. Liver failure can put you in a coma, but there's a good likelihood you'd have spent weeks awake, though not completely clear, with nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain.

Q. Why does paracetamol not work for me?
when trying to relieve cold symptoms or any ache i am better of taking ibuprofen or aspirin, as paracetamol leaves me almost the same (apart from a slightly bitter taste in my mouth). why would that be? do i have some tolerance towards it or something? no i rarely take it, i usually take ibuprofen or aspirin, but i find that a 200mg ibuprofen had about 3 times stronger effect on me than a 500mg pill of paracetamol. i am coming down with a cold and a colleague gave some paracetamol: everyone seems to absolutely love this stuff, which for me is like a sugar pill!

You either have taken it to often and the effects are weak. Or you just expect a pharmacy product to do what the advertisement says it will do. Truth is paracetamol is weak especially what you get from pharmacies. Rest and plenty of liquids best methods. Also for headaches 3-4 aspirins will work a hell of alot better. added info, i purposly do not take paracetamol for as long as i can (until i really need it) 2 tablets will knock me out. More you use it, the weaker it gets.

Not a fizzy drink but a protein smoothie drink will help in the long run and you wont "crash" afterward. 8oz. vanilla yogurt 1 ripe banana sliced 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon 1/4 cup walnuts 1 tablespoon honey 1 teaspoon ground flax seeds Blend and drink! Also taking a zinc tablet every day for the week prior to the test will help your memory. Good luck!
