Q. What's the “fact(s) of life” or the “ dating ‘game’ ” here at these venues whether in public or the internet?? i’m a 32-year-old heterosexual(straight) single male who is open-minded, laid-back, humanistic spiritual but not religious; yet and “being (himself)/myself”.
how do i develop/attract/‘win’ a peer-aged female’s desire— a woman of any race/ethnicity— desire in being either my platonic friend or for mutual non-platonic relationship when i meet/mingle peer-aged women in the following places? ? ?
1. a social dance(salsa, two-step, swing, etc.) sponsored by either a university or a dance studio(which has group classes)? ? ?
2. the ‘speed dating’ in-person meet-up group events/activities sponsored by either 8minutedating.com or hurrydate.com? ? ?
3. on-line/internet dating websites: (plentyoffish.com, yahoo.com, true.com, date.com, passion.com, match.com, friendfinder.com, etc.)? ? ?
4. at a religious/spiritual “singles’ group” or a church’s “singles’ group” presume christianity— any denomination/orthodoxy; and, the word, ‘singles’, in context of this question, means: “persons who are neither married nor dating”? ? ?
5. doing volunteer/charity work in the community, attending a co-ed yoga or gardening class, or a co-ed class/meet-up group that do hobby(-ies) that i enjoy? ? ?
1 and 2) Get involved with a dance school, or someone who already is.
3) Just join and registeron a dating web site.
4) Go to masses at a church
5) Is up to you, and you have many options.

Isn't this really a "singles and dating" question, having nothing to do with religion & spirituality??
I would suggest in order, 5, 1 and 4. With #5 you are not only meeting people, but helping others (if volunteering).

I did # 1 and 2 yrs ago. I like # 2 best. First stop thinking about this so much. Relax. It should be easy if it is not- it is not right event for you. Pick which ever setting you are most comfortable with and be yourself.
I met my husband at speed dating years ago when it was in its infancy. At a coffehouse in a big city hosting the event. We actually never sat down with each other. It was too large a crowd so you never met everyone, but both noticied each other from across the room. He approached me at the end. I was waiting for my friend who was talking to someone.
We chated for a few minutes. The concept was wearing name tags and given a chart to write name and mark yes or no interest. When the host went over them later, if Linda picked Jim and Jim picked Linda you were both contacted and given each others number to talk further. So nice. No bars, but a venue where you knew someone was single, available, looking, and sober.
We wrote down each others name and here we are, family and all. My husband describes our meeting as he did not have to think. He knew I was attractive (still talks about that blouse -great at accenting my pretty eyes and hint of clevage Lol) Also I was so easy to talk to. There was no doubt he wanted my number but neither of us had to face the inperson rejection awkwardness of regular venue.
I think it is a great way to get out there. Go with the flow. Don't have high expectations at first. Ages and personalities are varied there. I had gone to one before and was dating a guy casually from that previous session. Then my friend wanted to try it but did not want to go alone. I asked guy I was dating since we had not gotten too involved or had the exclusive talk would he be upset if I went to another event with my friend and if I would be out of line to mark any boxes if interested. He said no and I went. Rest is history.
Sidenote: my husband was your age exactly when I met him.
My friend I went with married a man who picked her too that night. So be careful no high expectations but if you are looking for casual relationships speed dating is often for the serious minded that cut through the b.s. of bars etc. good luck.
