Hi, The best way to reduce cholesterol is to eat absolutely no fats except olive oil and other non saturated oils. Also, eat mainly vegetables and fruits, nuts etc. No fried food. sd

Cholesterol can be reduced by cutting fat from your diet by 100%. Replace all grease and fat with olive oil. Use only sunflower oil or safflower oil also. Add flaxseed ground up to your diet every day. Then eat only vegetables and fruits....no prepared or prepackaged foods. I assume that you want to know of foods that help reduce the cholesterol in your blood versus reduce cholesterol formed by your liver. I have been taking ground flax seed (1 heaping tablespoon per day -on cereal or in orange juice) after intially expressing some scepticism. Based on recent results from laboratory blood tests re LDL/HDL blood levels, i am surprised to say that the ground flax seed has worked wonders in that my LDL (the bad cholesterol) has gone from the low end of the high risk category to the top of the low risk category! I have heard that fish oils can also help manage your cholesterol but have not had any experience with them other than I take halibut liver oil capsules every day.. (started taking these after my last blood test,) H

Use these diet hints to do this:----The foods that lower cholesterol are: oatmeal, huge salads made of dark greens, reds, yellows, vegetables, olive oil, sunflower oil. No mayonnaise or use a fat free mayo. Eat 75% of your diet made of brightly coloured vegetables and fruits. Raw fruits and vegetables are best. Cabbage is excellent. Fish and the fish skin and fat are good for lowering cholesterol. Very lean meats. More important are the foods you don`t eat.
