    Q. Hotels in the mayan riviera: which hotels have good beaches?

The best beach in the Mayan Riviera as far as I have seen is the Iberostar. Actually both Iberostars. The one in Paraiso and also especially the one in Playa Del Carmen. These are unbeatable beaches.

    Q. Hotels in the mayan riviera: which hotels have good beaches?

"And also the riu hotels are there..."

All the beaches are good in the Mayan. Some are good for snorkelling and some for swimming. The beach at Playa Del Carmen is gorgeous. The Iberostar, and also the Riu hotels are there. Also, there is the Porto Real there also. All are excellent hotels with a wonderful beach.

    Q. How much does expedia charge for servicing my hotel booking?

"Quote you then try to make a reservation on the hotel's website..."

It depends on the city actually. Best way to tell would be to see the price they quote you then try to make a reservation on the hotel's website . The difference between the two will show you the booking price. If you're bidding blindly you're on your own.

    Q. Heeelllppp!!! how do you get a good deal on a vacation? i don't ever seem to get them through expedia, etc.
i always hear of people getting these great vacation deals. they end up taking families of 4 on cruises, exotic places, etc., and paying like 7 hundred a person (if that!) how do they do that. i book a hotel room for three nights and i am paying a thousand dollars. i want to go to the bahamas in february with a friend. what is a good price for this trip and what is too much to pay. it seems from the expedia site that we will be paying $3,000+ to go for 5 - 7 days and that price isn't even a 4 star hotel. is that really what i should be paying? i'm stressed and in need of a good vacation. i have never had one and just spent a thousand dollars to go away to a crappy ocean city maryland hotel for three days. that was not what i needed! everyone of those priceline, expedia, choice hotel type sites seems to quote the same exact thing and it appears they charge exactly what the hotels charge, so am i missing something? help!

"Well first off try to book your flight late that way the..."

well first off try to book your flight late that way the price will go down this will help a lot next you only really should pay aroung 2,000 to 2,500 for an ok room. i went to florida (fort laderdale on the beach) and my family stayed in an ok hotel but it was on the beach and it only cost around 2,000 dollers for 10 days and we had a famile of 8 !

    Q. How much do hotels cost in tokyo, japan including taxes + service fees?
i found a hotel on expedia for about $180 a night for a 2 person room in tokyo. the site, however, wont display the taxes and other fees until i paid for the reservation. also, i read some reviews of hotels in tokyo and found out that most hotels charge a daily service fee. how much will that cost? also, there are 4 people with us... how strict are they about the 2 person limit? because two of us would have no problem sleeping on the sofa or floor even. thanks!

"U did not indicate the currency so i assumed is usd..."

lau sifu, r u from hkg, spore or msia? Dont even think to bunk 3 to 4 persons if u only booked for 2 persons per room cos u only get a space enough for 2 only! As for taxes, service tax 5% if is not in the price, it will be indicated somewhere. Please check thoroughly on the terms and conditions. U did not indicate the currency so I assumed is USD, if so, then the hotel should be 2 to 3 stars depending on the location.

    Q. Have you experienced hotel overbooking problems on a reservation made through expedia.com?
i booked a hotel through expedia and when i got there they had no rooms. they told me that expedia sometimes books rooms in hotels that are already full. they sent me to another hotel with no additional charge, but it was still a hassle and it wasn't the one i wanted originally. have someone else had this problem? i want to book a hotel room in new york and expedia does have the best fares, but i don't want to get there to find the same problem... it would be the third time i boox with expedia. the first time i had no problems at all. yeah, i paid ahead of time, with my credit card, and when i got there after a 6 hour drive they said "sorry, we're full. expedia does this all the time."

"Get confimation from the hotel for every reservation or have a contracted room contingent..."

The response of the hotel is a lie, as all agencies and operators need to get confimation from the hotel for every reservation or have a contracted room contingent per season. In case of the room contingents it is usual for the hotels to guarantee more rooms in total as are actually available to ensure the highest occupancy possible.

    Q. Are there any hotel websites that don't charge your credit card right away?
are there any hotel websites that don't charge your credit card right away just to make a reservation? i know that expedia.com and hotels.com do this..do you know of any that do not?

"I suggest you make your reservations through the hotel directly cause those..."

hi, i am in the hotel buisness and to be honest with you the majority of hotel websites charge you right away depending on the type of reservation you are making. I suggest you read everything before you make the reservation Everything! If you use a third party website like priceline, or Orbitz, or expedia, they will charge you right away, i suggest you make your reservations through the hotel directly cause those third party sites charge you more than what the hotel charges them! and if you go through the hotels site, and you get a really cheap rate make sure you read everything cause sometimes they are not cancellable. I suggest you call the sites directly if you do it through a third pary site so they can answer all your questions. .Hope i helped. =)

    Q. Will expedia tie up, or hold any extra money if i reserve a hotel room with a debit card?
i've read online that if i use my debit card to reserve a room, the hotel will hold extra money in case of liabilities, internet usage, snack bars, etc and i may risk overdrafting from my account. will this problem occur if i use my debit card on travel sites? or will i only be charged for the amount that expedia lists for my hotel? also, is using a debit card safe to use on these sites? thank you!

"An online travel site they will only charge you for the price that is..."

I wouldn't recommend using a debit card online, because you run the risk of the site charging you an exorbinant amount, and thus overdrafting your account. If you are using your debit card to reserve a room through an online travel site they will only charge you for the price that is listed plus tax. Now, if you should use other amenities in your room you will be charged extra by the hotel, not the travel site. And that is only at time of check-out.

    Q. Has anyone been charged high fees, lied to/mislead by vacation sales people from expedia.com/hotels.com,etc.?

"A lot of companies won't deal with reservations booked with these type discounters..."

I've never actually dealt with Expedia or the other sites online. I prefer the personal touch, service, advice, and knowledge of a travel agent. But from what I have heard, I would never book with these sites. Just looking around, I've often found that the sites are more expensive than my travel agent for my vacations. I suppose they are OK for just a room, but otherwise the prices don't seem that good. And I've just heard so many stories of people having problems. Cruises changing, client wasn't informed, new ports, etc. Cruise cancelled, client wasn't informed. Poor quality hotels. Sites claimed the customer never booked, even after they had paid, leaving them with no booking and out the money. And the big one I see a lot, is people have a problem, change, cancellation, etc. and try to contact the sites and they never respond and it is really difficult. Also, a lot of companies won't deal with reservations booked with these type discounters, so if you have a problem, you have to rely on the site to take care of it, which isn't always easy. But, a lot of people have like these sites and used them with good experieces. But for me, from what I have heard, I wouldn't want to risk taking a horrible vacation so that I could save a little money.

    Q. Do i need to make a down payment when i book a hotel on expedia?
my friends and i would like to reserve a room for our vacation through expedia.com. however, as we are booking the room, we came across a page that asked for our credit card numbers. we would like to know if they are going to charge for that room when we get there or when we put our credit card number down. we have no clue what to expect. thanks for your help. we really appreciate your response.

"A credit card on file for any incidentals that you charge to the room..."

If you book through Expedia and many of the other hotel websites, you pay the website for the full cost of the stay when you book it. Expedia will then pay the hotel for your stay before you arrive. When you get to the hotel, you will need to leave a credit card on file for any incidentals that you charge to the room . If you don't want to pay for it in full when booking, try going directly through the hotel's website. You will still need a credit card, but it will normally only be charged if you don't show up or cancel the reservation. However watch as some hotels have prepaid, non-refundable rates which will require full payment as well, but will come with a lower rate.
