a lot of yall don`t quite understand the gospel, but I`m glad to see some are walking in the light, so I`ll clear a few confusing things up. Jesus died
for our sins, past, present, and future sins, however, if we still live an unrepentant life of continually sinning on purpose, Paul says we probably don`t really believe in our hearts. We believe in our heads, and know the knowledge, but in our hearts it hasn`t become real. It means we know information about Jesus, but don`t actually TRUST Him. To believe in him (and be saved
) means TRUSTING him, not just believing he existed. For james says "you beleive there is one God? good. even demons believe that, and shudder". ..but demons aren`t going to heaven. to truely believe in the gospel will change your life. it will be evident by a heart change, and with that heart change we won`t WANT to live a life of sin. yes, we`ll still mess up and sin, and here and there even sin knowing that we`re trying to sin
, but our true
wish is to be Christ-like and become more and more like jesus, not this world. That`s why we repent. it`s not that it saves us, jesus already saved
us, we repent so that we can "recognize our sin and turn the other way" so that we can chnange out lifestyle and become more and more like christ. If you are truely a christian, you shouldn`t need an insentive to do that, it should be out of love. however, the incentive is that God gives us blessings in heaven according to what we do on this earth.
