Is it safe to take 3 acetaminophen pms? i am coming down with the flu and i am concerned about not sleeping through the night. at 2:15 today i took two tylenols, but it is now 7:00 and i would like to go to sleep. would it harm me in any way to take 3 acetaminophen pm extra strength quick release gelcaps? if it helps any, i am 19 years old and i am 130 lbs.
As long as you do not have any liver issues or other serious medical conditions then taking three Tylenol PM tablets, pills, capsules, etc. will not be a problem. All the drug consists of is Tylenol and Benadryl. I have taken up to four of them at a time to help calm down some bad histamine reactions occuring from mosquito bites and I have yet to suffer any negative results. Just keep in mind it is really the Tylenol part of the drug that is the most dangerous, so if you take other drugs durring the day that contain acetominophen, then you need to make sure that taking those three will not push you over the max dose for Tylenol.
Just keep in mind it may make you sleepy (as I am sure you are aware). That drowsy feeling may be more amplified with the extra pill, so just be careful performing tasks in which you need to be alert.
Oh, and just as an FYI, if you are having trouble with sleeping and you find that the typical dose of Tylenol PM is not working well for you, then you may want to try a different approach. There is another OTC medication that is very effective at helping people to fall asleep and that medication is Dramamine (The same medicine that people take for motion sickness). So you may try that as an option as it poses a little less hazard than the Tylenol PM.
Now of course if your problem presists for more than 2 weeks, I would go ahead and see a doctor about it, because you may need some Rx medications to best handle your sleep issues or, there may be another underlying issue which is causing your sleep issues. So just keep that in mind.

could that harm you?
No. but you will sleep for a long time from the benadryl depending on what strength and type of sleeping pill. the tylenol won't do anything. I wouldn't recommend taking this..

"bad" is not an objective term when looking at the results/effects of combining more than one drug/toxin in your body.
they answer to "why" is that drugs have a compounding effect. the same combination and dose of drugs will cause different effects in different people.
the ammount of harm it can cause is almost endless.
prescription drugs are usually more toxic than illegal ones, they often have ingredients added to them to prevent you from mixing them with alcahol by producing severe adverse reactions.
again "bad" isn't a good term to use here. alcahol by itself can do serious harm, tylenol by itself does serious harm.
a general rule of thumb is: if you're not confident and competent in dosing yourself with drugs, dont mix any. usual sensibilities: read the label and take as directed. if symptoms persist or you experience side effects contact your health-care professional.

Please answer! i think my friend overdosed!? k well im 13 and my friends 13 and she was takeing alot of tylenols. well 13 and 3 advils which is alot. she took them at once and today she had a bad stomach ache and head ache and is fealing very dizzy. me and my other friend are terrified for her! what should we do? and what harm did tho's tylenols&advils do to her??? help!!!!

Q. Any nurse here??? im 32 weeks pregnant and i had high fever for three days(the highest was 101.3).now my body is cold but i feel really hot inside and i sweat,am i still having fever even if the termomether shows that my temperature is normal?is it too much if i take two tylenols every six hours and can the fever do any harm to the baby?help please,im so worried.i went to doc and they did urine culture and analysis averything is normal.what should i do?
The tylenol every 6 hours is fine, and your highest temp being 101 isn't too bad. I am sure all will be fine, but you need to go to the doctor to find out what is causeing the fever. Having the sweats is just the fever breaking, and your body trying to cool it self down, totally normal. If you temp starts to rise again, have a cool bath, make sure to drink plenty of fluids, and get lots of rest. Your body is likely just fighting off some kind of a bug, and I am sure everthing it fine with baby. It would be more concerning if your temp was high like 102.5 or more, I think you are o.k. with where it has been. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.

yeah they did the urine analysis and urine culture,everything as normal.i m just worried if the fever could harm the baby
What tests did they do? Did they draw blood and did you give urine samples for a urinalysis and urine for culture and sensitivity? Did they take swabs from the vagina? All these things help show any infection. The culture and swabs take at least 48 hours to incubate. If these test were done, contact your doctor/OBS to check the results. If you do have an infection, this increases your risk of premature labour. If they weren't done and you still feel ill, go back to labour and delivery.

Q. What do you think of this poem i wrote? title? okay well a little while ago we had this assembly at school about bullying, and it really got to me so i wrote a poem about it...i need a title for this so any suggestions?

they laugh
they sneer away
forever this lasts
their cigarettes burn
into her skin
melt open old cuts
outside and within
biting her lip,
she muffles her cries
she isn't quite human
in their eyes
merciless kicks
to her back and shin
she hunches down

they call her names

but that's what they are

blinded with pain
she stumbles home

she's lost all her grace
