You can cut them in half if they are not the extended release tablets. If they are the regular which are orange or peach colored and scored (an indentation on one side to know where to cut in half) then you can cut them in half. I got this answer from a pharmacist.

If I take some tablets after drinking coca cola - eg my heart medication or certain painkillers - I get very nausious and dizzy (like vertigo) ... a medical friend says the bubbles could be delivering the drug too quickly into the blood stream.
